Well, I saw my first one last night. It was amazing! I guess when I was a small child I saw a solar eclipse, but I don't remember it, so this was something special for me. I had to drive half way up to Badger just to see it, so I parked on a dirt road turn off and watched it for a good hour or so. I had a few people tell me-after watching it-that they were reminded of how boring they were. I have to disagree. It might just be a shadow covering the moon, but for those of us who know we will never visit space-and dream of it every time we look at the night sky-it gives us a chance to see the shadow of ourselves in the universe. Only by watching the shadow of our planet overtake a smaller celestial body can we fully comprehend and respect the massive nature of planets.
